What I Love About Working With My Clients

The creative process—When I first meet a client, we begin a creative process that starts at the initial meeting. First and foremost, I want to do more listening than talking as I dig deeper into who they are and what they do! I absolutely love this part of the process because it’s when I can see their passion come to life.

Getting on the same page—After our initial meeting, I will put together an overview of what we talked about, as well as a customized proposal to meet their needs—then, we will meet again and discuss everything together. It’s important to me that I am on the same page as them and that I have a full understanding of who they are, what they do, and what goals/objectives they wish to accomplish.

Putting it into action—Now is when the magic starts to happen and we begin to bring their vision to life. I always start with creating a comprehensive timeline for each project and I share that with the client so that they can follow along and are always in the know. The first part of the timeline starts with some research. I want to take the time to get to know them and their business inside and out. I will absorb as much as I can from their website, current marketing materials, and social pages—I will also look at their competition and get a feel for the market. In my opinion, the research portion of my work is one of the most essential parts of the puzzle. Getting to know them and their specific industry allows me to best guide them in their efforts.

Working together—The beauty of what I do, is that I am able to alleviate my clients of these marketing efforts that are depleting them of the incredibly important time that they need to be spending building their actual business and caring for their clients. I step-in as an extension of their team and get right to work. I will take care of all of the logistics and execution of work, while remaining entirely connected to their overall business efforts—this is accomplished through strong communication with the client on a daily basis. I find out the preferred method of communication for each client and use that platform to keep them informed and in the loop. I also ask that they keep me abreast on what they are doing within their organization. One of the steps in the creative process that I believe sets us apart is that we integrate business owner’s overall business goals and objectives directly with marketing efforts. The two work cohesively together to foster success for the client. By the end of a large project, it feels strange to not speak with my client on a daily/sometimes hourly basis! We really are a team, working together to move the ball forward.

Measuring the results—At the end of a campaign and/or on a monthly basis for ongoing accounts, I sit down with the client to measure the successes. This is a critical final step in the process that often gets overlooked. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. We commit to avoiding that type of negative thought process by continually tracking how our campaigns are performing. At the end, we’re able to sit down and reflect on what we want to stop, start and continue—based on statistical results of what is working best!

Clients turned friends—Last but not least, one of my absolute favorite things about working with my clients is that we learn to trust one another. Forming a lasting working relationship built on trust is the essence of who I am. This is the goal of every single client relationship that I have and it’s why I often call my clients, my friends! I love meeting the extraordinary people that I have the honor of working with and learning more about their passions in life. Some are starting families, while others are approaching retirement and regardless of their stage of life—every single one has a unique story to share. I am just lucky enough to be the one to share it with the world!
